Hi Media people,
But what I’m really disappointed on, is the extremely irresponsible and loose reporting and journalism being exhibited by the media all over the country.
With the technology revolution of today, we have 100s of different ways the media can reach out to the common people across the world. Newspapers, TV and internet news have indeed taken the way any news reaches the world population to a completely new level. But a very disappointing and surprising side-effect to this is also seen in the last two days with these grim incidents in the country.
On 25th July’08 ‘Some’ serial blasts rocked the IT hub of India, Bangalore. But frankly even till date many of the world population have no idea of exactly ‘How Many’ serial blasts did take place in the city? According to some the the most trusted and reputed media groups the number of blasts is anywhere between 7 to 9.
As per the Deccan Chronicle News paper (Bangalore and Chennai Edition, 26th July’08), there were 8 blasts.
Even some other papers, like Times of India and Indian Express reported 8 Blasts.
But astonishingly, some (Very Trusted) news people went even further, with 9 Blasts:

Now lets look at the casualties of these (I don’t know how many) blasts in Bangalore:

Indian Express and some others reported 1 woman Killed.

Yahoo, IBN Live & TimesNow TV reported 2 people dead.

Andhra News and some others reported 3 people killed.
Which one am I supposed to Trust?
Now lets come to the very next day, shocking India once again with
‘Some more’ serial blasts in Ahmedabad yesterday (26th July 2008).
And the media does it again… We still don’t know how many blasts did happen in Ahmedabad! 16, 17 or 18?

The Hindu reports 17 blasts.

Deccan Herald reports 17 blasts.

IBN Live reports 17 blasts on the net.
But the same people (IBN CNN & IBN 7) on TV are showing 16 blasts even today (27th July’08).
Similarly NDTV is also reporting 16 Blasts today, while the same channel was saying 17 blasts yesterday!
Also today many TV channels are continuously flashing 16 Blasts in Ahmedabad!
I don’t even want to check about the casualties there, because that figure is still not stable.
But the point is, can someone confirm me, HOW MANY BLASTS DID HAPPEN IN BANGALORE AND AHMEDABAD?
